Meeting Details
Thoreau PTO meetings are friendly, casual, and informative, as well as a nice way to meet other parents and school representatives. As a parent, family member, or guardian of a Thoreau student, you are automatically a member of the PTO and invited to attend all meetings and events.
The PTO meetings are usually held four times each school year in the Thoreau LMC (library). A typical meeting involves sharing information about school events, listening to updates from committee chairpersons, and possibly having a special guest from the school district or elsewhere.
6 Reasons Why You Should Attend the Thoreau PTO meetings!
- Children perform better in school when their parent/guardian is informed and involved.
- Meet other families and school representatives in a casual and friendly environment.
- Participate to whatever level you are comfortable-- listen, share your ideas or concerns, volunteer to help or lead a committee.
- Childcare is provided at no cost to you. Translators are also available.
- Help Thoreau Elementary have a strong, vibrant and active school community by participating in the PTO.
- Our school will be better when we ALL work together!
The PTO needs you! Our many committees, fundraisers, and activities cannot happen without the help of all of you. Following are the list of the current PTO committee positions that we need to fill for the 2009/2010 school year. Please consider taking one of these great opportunities to get involved at Thoreau!
