Barnes & Noble Music Program and Sale

Our holiday bookfair at Barnes & Noble is coming on December 10, this coming Saturday.  To kick off this very easy fundraiser, our own Ms. Whalley has worked with our students to prepare a nice set of holiday songs. The students will be performing from 10:30 to 11:15 that Saturday morning.

You may also purchase books that day and either present your voucher (from backpack mail and also attached) or tell the B&N staff that you would like your purchase to count towards Thoreau Elementary's bookfair fundraiser.  Also, relatives and friends can purchase online at www.BN.com/bookfairs using the ID number 10562080. Online sales from December 10-15 will count towards our bookfair total!

Holiday Wish Lists for Our Classrooms

Attached, you will find the Holiday Wish List for the teachers.  If you are wanting to do a little something for your teacher, but don't know what to do, here is the solution!

The teachers have made lists of items they need in their classrooms.  Many of them spend their own money for classroom supplies, so here is a great way to help our teachers AND our school!  Many of the teachers also really appreciate gift cards (ideas listed) for when needs arise.

Remember, gifts such as home made cards from your children, thank you notes, and volunteer time in the classroom are also precious gifts!

The ideas are also listed outside of the office on the PTO bulletin board.  If your teacher is not listed, please check the bulletin board in a few days as lists are still coming in.  Or, just ask your teacher what their classroom needs!  AND, don't forget your wonderful specials teachers!

Thanks, Shannon Kuntsman and Brigit Frank for organizing this holiday wish list!

Make ’em Laugh!

Tomorrow, November 18, at 9 a.m., our second and third graders, with the guidance of our fabulous Ms. Whalley, will be performing their long awaited program, "Make 'em Laugh."

Come and see the antics these enthusiastic kids have prepared.  It’s a riot!!   (And you don’t have to be a second or third grader family member to come.  It’s a show for our school community!)
